Its been announced today that plans are underway to further integrate Vauxhall Motors into Groupe PSA by closing down the Luton based headquarters, a building that has been a landmark in the town for many years…

A statement from Vauxhall said the following; “Vauxhall Motors Ltd has entered into a 45 day consultation period with Trade Union representatives to vacate its current head office at Griffin House”
Continuing and commenting on the extensive heritage fleet which is also based at the Osbourne Road site; “The proposal also includes the relocation of the heritage centre within the Luton area but its not possible to give any further details at this stage”
Griffin House was originally built to contain the companies design and testing facilities. From 1991 it became the head office for Vauxhall Motors Ltd. Unconfirmed sources have told us that some key administrative departments will be relocated to premises just outside Luton itself.
A real sad shame. But business is about profitability and it’s future, not it’s past.
